I’m writing this from LAX airport as I wait for my flight back to London.
10 weeks have gone by in the blink of an eye and with it a kaleidoscope of experiences, people and places.
I answered the call to adventure and I don’t regret it one bit.
One of my goals was to put on a breathwork workshop out here and although the first one didn’t work out, yesterday I co-facilitated a workshop in the heart of Malibu and it couldn’t have gone better.
It was a lesson in being patient. It took me two months worth of networking and scouting locations for everything to align perfectly.
It was also a lesson in saying yes. If I hadn’t said yes to the offer of coming to LA, I wouldn’t have attended the powerful Sacred Sons Immersion course. If I hadn’t attended Sacred Sons, I wouldn’t have met Jeremy a brilliant LA based breathwork facilitator who I collaborated with on the Malibu workshop.
Saying yes has broadened my horizons and as a result I return to London inspired and with a head full of ideas.
There were times where I questioned my decision to drop everything and head out here on a whim. Living out of a suitcase exacerbated my adhd and put a pause on the breathe with adhd workshops I had launched in London a few months prior.
But it was worth it and having now facilitated my first cold plunge and breathwork workshop, I was able to witness the powerful healing effect of the combination of these two modalities. They are effective at helping to heal trauma and create an opportunity for forced mindfulness. The cold water shuts down our frontal cortex so we have no option but to literally remain present!
I will be announcing new dates shortly for an in-person workshop in London and an online session, dates tbc soon.
My flights about to board so I will have to leave it there. Until next time, say yes.
