Exciting announcement klaxon: On Saturday 24th February I will be facilitating my first group workshop.
Breathwork has helped me manage my ADHD symptoms, particularly in regulating my nervous system and increasing my levels of focus and concentration. My hope is that it will help you too. And even if you don’t have ADHD, you will still feel the benefits and leave feeling calm and reconnected to yourself.
It feels like quite a journey arriving at this point. Only last Summer I was using breathwork as a tool to manage my anxiety. I found it so effective, that I decided to travel across the world to train to become a breathwork facilitator in Bali. Hyperfocus much?
During my training it became clear that this modality was a missing piece of the jigsaw puzzle. I had previously spent many years developing a meditation practice, which helped to quieten my mind. But I was unaware of the direction correlation between my restlessness and having a dysregulated nervous system.
Through learning various deep and intentional breathing techniques, I am now able to calm myself down and move from a state of fight or flight, to rest and digest baby!
Whilst I’m really looking forward to sharing this experience with you, there is a part of me that is nervous. Over the past few months I have assisted on workshops and facilitated individual sessions, but doing it as part of a group feels like a step up.
It’s also the thought of entering a new phase of my professional life. For the past ten years, I have been in the comedy game and in fact still am. But, it feels like the right time to explore this new avenue. My spiritual journey/quest began some years ago and now I want to share some of the knowledge that I have learned.
I love comedy, for its creativity, fun and as a way to express yourself and try new things. As I mentioned in my first article, I have had a varied career moving between acting, performing improv and standup, writing, directing and producing.
But as we grow, our outlook and interests change. And I feel fortunate enough to be in position to follow this new path and see where it leads. So, whether you are new to breathwork or a regular, I would love to see you there. Further details are below.
